Dental Summer Enrichment Program at the University of Detroit Mercy
Program Dates: May 20 to June 28, 2013
The Dental Summer Enrichment Program at the University of Detroit Mercy (UDM) School of Dentistry is a six-week initiative aimed at exposing students to the dental field and encouraging them to pursue careers in dentistry. Students will strengthen their academic skills, network with dental professionals and students, and participate in hands-on activities, seminars, workshops, and other active learning opportunities. They also develop study skills, practice strategies for taking the Dental Admission Test (DAT), and receive assistance with the dental school application process.
Participants must be U.S. citizens or nationals. They must have completed at least two years of college and demonstrated an interest in pursuing a dental degree. Students must have at least a 2.75 GPA and must submit an official transcript as part of the application process. Participants must also be economically or educationally disadvantaged. Interested students must submit an online application and all materials listed below by March 27, 2013, at 5:00 PM.
- A current resume or curriculum vitae
- Three (3) letters of recommendation. Two letters should be from science instructors/professors; the third can be from a D.D.S. or D.M.D. (WAIVED: If you recently applied to UDM Dental School in the 2013-14 cycle, we will use your recommendation letters on file. Please do not resend recommendation letters.) Letters of recommendation should be sent directly from the source to the address below to maintain confidentiality.
- Official college transcripts from each institution you have attended. (For recent applicants to UDM Dental School in the 2013-14 cycle, please send updated transcripts if you have taken classes since you applied to UDM Dental School.) Please direct your college/university to send your official transcript to the address below.
