NHSC Students to Service Loan Repayment Program

NHSC Students to Service Loan Repayment “Pilot” Program 2013 Application Cycle is Now Open!

The National Health Service Corps Students to Service (S2S) Loan Repayment “Pilot” Program’s 2013 application cycle is open. The application cycle will be open until December 13, 2012; however, students are strongly encouraged to apply early.

The S2S Program will provide loan repayment assistance to medical students (MD and DO) in their last year of school in return for serving in eligible Health Professional Shortage Areas (HPSAs) of greatest need. This year, psychiatry has been included as an eligible discipline.

The program is seeking applicants who demonstrate the characteristics for and an interest in serving the nation’s medically underserved populations beyond their service commitment. The S2S Program will provide loan repayment up to $120,000 for three years of full-time service or six years of part-time service.

Each S2S LRP applicant must submit a complete online application by the deadline of 5 pm ET, December 13. Applicants are strongly encouraged to review the 2013 Application and Program Guidance for complete program details.

Awards are subject to the availability of funds. Applicants will be notified of their award status no later than February 28, 2013.
