Aim Higher

Northern Lower Regional Center

The Northern Lower Regional Center is expected to launch in September 2014. It will be responsible for implementing AHEC goals in 21 counties: Alcona, Alpena, Antrim, Benzie, Charlevoix, Cheboygan, Crawford, Emmet, Grand Traverse, Iosco, Kalkaska, Leelanau, Manistee, Missaukee, Montmorency, Ogemaw, Oscoda, Otsego, Presque Isle, Roscommon, and Wexford.

Our Regional Center partner, Central Michigan University, is establishing a College of Medicine to help fill imminent needs for physicians and provide medical education opportunities for qualified students. Emphasis will be placed on training primary care physicians dedicated to serving the needs of communities in mid- and northern Michigan.
