Michigan AHEC Hosts Second Annual Legislative Breakfast in Lansing

Legislative Breakfast Photo1On May 23, 2018, Michigan AHEC's five Regional Centers hosted their second annual Legislative Breakfast in Lansing. The purpose of the breakfast is to educate law makers about the importance of recruiting, training and placing the next generation of healthcare providers in Michigan's medically underserved, healthcare provider shortage areas.

Lisa Hadden, Executive Director of Michigan AHEC's Mid-Central Regional center introduced the audience to Michigan AHEC and described the programs each of the 5 regional center are involved with across the state. Loretta Bush, CEO of Michigan Primary Care Association was the keynote speaker and talked about the important role Michigan AHEC plays in making Michigan a healthier state. Legislators from across the state joined the morning program and engaged in necessary dialogue to move the agenda forward.
