UP AHEC Rural Health Student Experiences
Thanks to the dedication of rural health providers and staff across multiple organizations and agencies, the Upper Peninsula Area Health Education Center has successfully assisted in providing 48 health professional student and resident rotations across the Upper Peninsula. Rotations in primary care for the 2019-2020 school year exceeded 30 different opportunities. In Houghton County, over 550 hours of rural, primary care clinical training was provided across 115 days. Over 230 rotation days and 1,440 hours were provided in Marquette County. Non-Primary Care rotations accumulated to over 5,730 hours across multiple community and service agencies.
