Western Regional AHEC Facilitates its 8th CHHS Immersion Day

WRCThis is the 3rd year the Van Buren Career Technical Center (VBCTC) attended a CHHS Immersion Day at the College of Health and Human Services at Western Michigan University.  Forty students and five instructors participated in the 4-hour event.

The students rotated through several activities hosted by instructors and students from nursing, physician assistant, health informatics, and holistic health and wellness programs.  Lab tours included the new Anatomage Table, SIM Man demonstration, and the dry bone cadaver lab.

This is the first high school group to experience the Anatomage Table, WMU's newly acquired technology.  Professors organized and were on hand to answer questions and explain the current and future uses of this amazing human-size 3D imaging computer.

WMU professors also presented career options for Health Informatics and Information Management (HiiM), and had everyone on their feet and moving about with Holistic Health exercises.  The Student Nurses' Association presented their group's purpose and goals and invited questions regarding the WMU Bronson School of Nursing program.
