Implicit Bias Considerations and Practical Applications: Training for Healthcare Professionals in the State of Michigan

This two-hour training focuses on defining, understanding, and applying practical strategies to improve provider interactions and overall client care. Presenters for the March, April and May sessions are Nick Erber-LaPierre, PhD, associate professor, and Sheri Pickover, PD., professor, both from the Central Michigan University Department of Counseling and Special Education.

The training meets the two-hour requirement for initial required implicit bias training for health care professionals in the state of Michigan. Continuing medical education and social work continuing education credits are available.

Attendance would be on one of the following dates, and space is limited for each offering:

 Specialty-Level Palliative Care Webinar Series

The Coleman Palliative Medicine Training Program is offering the Specialty-Level Palliative Care Webinar Series

This is a 10-week virtual webinar series on specialty-level palliative care topics for advanced practice providers, physicians, nurses, nursing students and medical residents who aspire to or currently work in palliative care. Webinars are evidence-based and case-based by expert interdisciplinary palliative care providers. They are held weekly on Zoom on varying weekdays at 8am- 9am CST. Participant interaction is encouraged. Recordings and speakers' slides will be available on the Canvas Learning Management System at the University of Chicago. Up to 10 CME/CE credits are available.

Providers who work at safety net hospitals or health care system may receive a free, on-on-one, 1-hour clinical mentoring sessions.
