West Michigan Health Career Pipeline Program Ready for Spring 2023

West Michigan students will have access to health career exploration and education opportunities through the Western Regional Community Consortium (WRCC), in partnership with the College of Health and Health Services at Western Michigan University (WMU), the College of Human Medicine at Michigan State University (MSU), Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan and Corewell Health. Medical students from MSU College of Human Medicine are working to create purposeful programming for those who participate in the eight-week (virtual) pipeline, while undergraduate students from WMU serve as mentors to the high school participants. Mentorship, college readiness, and leadership skills are provided to ninth and tenth-grade students interested in health careers. A recruitment campaign is underway for WMU undergraduate mentors to pair with West Michigan high school students who are enrolled in 19 counties within the WRCC. The pipeline program is set to kick-off in February of 2023.
