Western Regional AHEC Welcomes HOSA Students

On Friday, November 18, the College of Health and Human Services at WMU and the Western Regional Area Health Education Center welcomed 200 high school students from west Michigan HOSA chapters. Students participated in MED TALKS, eight short presentations on health careers and topics including, nursing, doctor of osteopathic medicine, forensic medical examination, human trafficking, gift of life, Peace Corps, body art and piercing, and prescription drug abuse.

Muskegon Students Visit MSU's College of Human Medicine

Michigan State University's College of Human Medicine in Grand Rapids hosted high school students from the Muskegon Area Career Tech Center during three career events this fall. A total of 136 students in 11th and 12th grades interacted with medical school students and professors, engaged in hands-on clinical activities, and learned about undergraduate requirements, the admissions process and tuition financing.
