Michigan AHEC Graduates 4th Cohort of AHEC Scholars
On April 27, 2023, Michigan AHEC hosted an AHEC Scholars Recognition Ceremony at the WSU College of Nursing. Student groups presented their team-based quality improvement projects and all AHEC Scholars were recognized for completing the 2-year program. AHEC Scholars is part of a national initiative created to prepare future healthcare providers to become leaders in primary care in rural and underserved areas.
This is the 4th cohort of students to graduate in the AHEC Scholars Program. Students came from across Michigan and represented the following academic institutions: Wayne State University College of Nursing, Wayne State University School of Medicine, Central Michigan University College of Medicine, WSU Eugene Applebaum College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences and Ferris State University College of Pharmacy. A group of University of Michigan Social Work students graduated early from the AHEC Scholars Program in December 2022.
