Biomedical Career Advancement Pipeline Porgram Registration now Open

Applications for the 2025 Biomedical Career Advancement Pipeline Program (BCAP) are now open for Summer 2025. This is the 11thA group of BCAP students smiling and holding their certificates year that BCAP has enriched young people with a summer research experience headed by Dr. Jenell White, PhD.  Each year 70 10th-12th grade students are selected to participate in the program from underserved communities. During the eight-week program students will explore research and health science careers; while also building relationships with like-minded peers. Participants conduct research Monday-Thursday and on Friday’s BCAP students receive hands-on training and professional development opportunities. Medical Mentors Pathway Program Applications Open

A group of students from the Medical Mentors Pathway ProgramsFor the second year in a row, SERC is pleased to work with the started working with Medical Mentors Pathway Program (M2P2) under the leadership of Dr. Patricia Uddyback MD, MBA, FACEP in partnership with Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute, Wayne State School of Medicine, and the Detroit Medical Center. Applications are now open for the six-week summer program that provides direct exposure to a career in medicine. Students explore a variety of medical specialties during three, two-week long rotations while directly interacting with attending physicians, residents and other healthcare providers. 10th-12th grade students and undergraduate students are welcome to apply. Nursing Detroit Healthcare Connect at Crockett Midtown High SchoolA group of high school students practicing CPR on test dummies

The Southeast Regional Center (SERC) will kick off 2025 with CPR training for 30 Seniors from Crockett Midtown High School in collaboration with Nursing Detroit on March 3rd, 2025. SERC previously partnered with Crockett and Nursing Detroit Training Center in 2024. Students will receive a two-year CPR certification and will also learn about career opportunities in healthcare.
